In a mixer, put the eggs and beat for 5 to 6 minutes. Gradually add the sugar with the mixer still on.
Turn off the mixer, gradually add the wheat flour (don't add all of it), the water (don't add all of it) and the vanilla essence. Beat it all together at minimum speed.
Add the rest of the flour and the rest of the water while beating.
Add the baking powder and mix with a spatula.
Grease the bottom of a baking tin with butter, add a sheet of parchment paper and pour in the batter.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 45 to 60 minutes.
Do the toothpick test.
