Traditional Brazilian Carrot Cake

In a blender, place the chopped carrots, the eggs, the oil, the sugar and blend it all together for 5 minutes.Add the sifted flour, the baking powder and the salt into a bowl and mix, add the batter and mix it all together very well.Grease a cake tin with butter and flour, pour the batter and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 50 to 60 minutes.To make the glaze, put the water, the sugar, the chocolate powder and the butter in a pan, mix nonstop over medium heat. Once it starts to thicken, turn off the heat.Remove the cake from the oven, pour the glaze and spread it evenly.

  • 3 Peeled Carrots
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 Cup of Oil 
  • 1 ½ Cups of Sugar
  • 2 Cups of Wheat Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon of Baking Powder
  • 1 Pinch of Salt

  • ¾ Cup of Water (You Can Use Milk)
  • ¾ Cup of Sugar
  • 1 Cup of Chocolate Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons of Butter
