Syrup
Into a bowl, start by adding the eggs and the sugar, mix it all together very well for a few minutes.
Once this is done, add the orange juice and the oil, mix again until combined. Add the wheat flour and mix it all very well. Finally, add the baking powder and mix gently.
Grease a baking tin with butter or margarine and sprinkle some sugar all over its bottom.
After that, add the oranges cut into thin slices, covering the bottom of the baking tin.
Pour all the batter we’ve made over the orange slices.
Take it to a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) and let it bake for about 45 minutes. Baking time may vary depending on the power of your oven.
Meanwhile, into a saucepan over medium heat, add the orange juice and the sugar, mix very well until it starts to boil.
Once cake has already baked through, using a skewer, poke some holes all over the cake. Once you’ve done that, pour the syrup we’ve just made and let cake rest for 30 minutes.
After this indicated time, run a knife along the edges of the cake to help unmold.
Flip the cake onto a flat surface and help yourself to a slice.
