Into a bowl, add the fish, the salt, the garlic powder, the oregano, the black pepper and the squeezed lemon juice, mix it all together gently, to keep the fillets from breaking down.
Once you’ve done that, set the fish fillets aside.
On a plate, put the wheat flour and the cornmeal, mix well.
Get the fish fillets and coat them well.
Once you’ve coated them, dip the fillets in a glass or bowl filled with water.
Add enough oil to cover the bottom of a skillet and add the fillets, fry each side for 3 minutes.
Note that while frying, the fish fillets don’t splash any oil.
Drain them on a plate lined with paper towels.
Serve with a dip of your choice, we’ve used mustard.
