Start by cutting the cabbage in half, remove the core and cut it in smaller pieces.
Transfer all these pieces of cabbage to a large bowl or dish and add the salt, mix all the ingredients together very well by hand, and set aside for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, grate the peeled carrots.
Transfer these grated carrots to the bowl filled with the cabbage, mix well and let it all rest for another 5 minutes.
After this indicated time, drain all the excess liquid from the carrots and cabbage left in the bowl, and transfer the salad to another bowl.
For seasoning, add the sugar, the dried basil, the sweet paprika and black pepper to taste.
Also add the turmeric, the crushed garlic cloves, the white vinegar and the hot oil, mix well.
Serve.
