Into a bowl, add the sugar, the salt and the hot water, mix well.
Add the wheat flour and mix well, when you can no longer mix with the spoon, knead by hand. If necessary, flour the table to prevent the dough from sticking.
Then stretch out the dough with a rolling pin, making sure it’s not too thin nor too thick.
Now using a pastry cutter, cut off the edges of the dough, shaping it into a rectangle.
Next, cut the dough in half then into strips.
After that, pour enough oil in a skillet to fully cover its bottom.
Fry the dough strips for 1 minute, flip them and fry on the other side for another minute.
Soak up the excess fat on a plate lined with paper towels.
Next, sprinkle some icing sugar all over the fried dough strips.
Serve with any jam of your choice.
